How to Use Social Media in the Architectural/Design, Engineering, Construction & Commercial Real Estate Industries

Carmina Bacani, Owner/Social Media Strategist of Infuse Marketing moderated a panel discussion on social networking for architects, engineers, general contractors and commercial real estate professionals on August 15, 2012. Presented by BICB (Building Industry Conference Board) and CICA (Commercial Interiors Contractors Association), the lunch presentation was attended at the San Francisco City Club.

Attendees were challenged to demonstrate their Twitter knowledge with an icebreaker to utilize the event’s hashtag (#CICABICB) at the beginning. The audience was hooked from then on and engaged with the panelist till the end. They were able to ask questions of their own along with the moderator. Questions ranged from “Why the industry is slow to adapt social media”, “How to leverage smartphones and tablets into your digital strategy to effectively measure ROI.” The luncheon also included an interactive breakout session at the end where each speaker was able to meet their small assigned groups and answer questions on a personal level. This was proven to be very effective and worthwhile to attendees as they fielded questions as it pertains to their situations, roles companies or industries.

The panelist’s hard work paid off. Numerous conference calls under the direction of CICA’s founder, Michael Ma were held for this big day. It was the first time the panel met in person and instant synergy was created!

Thank you to all that attended, it was a fun and interactive event!
